The Wayne-Dalton HomeSettings Deluxe Remote Control Wayne-Dalton Launches Major Expansion into Home Automation Industry

MT. HOPE, Oh ()

Wayne-Dalton, through a groundbreaking alliance with major innovation leaders in the wireless home controls industry, has itself now launched a complete line of home access and control products under the umbrella brand name of HomeSettings™ Wireless Home Control System.

The HomeSettings wireless home control system utilizes a mesh network technology called Z-Wave, which was developed by the Zensys Corporation. Many companies have since joined together with Zensys to form a group known as the Z-Wave Alliance. With Wayne-Dalton as one of the six original charter members, the Z-Wave Alliance has worked diligently to develop and expand this wireless technology into products that will make Z-Wave enabled products common place in the home.

The goal of the Z-Wave Alliance is to introduce a wide range of compatible items that are extremely easy to install and use. In addition, Z-Wave products will bring wireless home control devices to the masses with home control solutions at completely new price levels.

Z-Wave's mesh network technology allows homeowners to monitor and manage home controls for items such as garage door openers, lighting, security systems, thermostats, and entertainment systems. The two-way wireless technology works through a radio frequency mesh. Up to 232 devices can be installed in a single Z-Wave network, allowing increased convenience, comfort, security, safety and energy conservation.

The idrive™ and prodrive™ garage door openers are the main portals for Wayne-Dalton’s initial foray into home automation. The openers were natural selections for the HomeSettings product line since most people interact with their garage door opener when leaving or upon returning home.

However, Wayne-Dalton has also developed additional HomeSettings products, such as lighting and small appliance modules, that can be used to expand Z-Wave functions to the rest of the home, making either the idrive or prodrive opener an even more attractive purchase for homeowners.

Additional Wayne-Dalton HomeSettings products can be added at any time, as they can seamlessly be integrated with pre-existing Z-Wave-enabled devices in the home.
