Receive tax credit for insulated doors

Wayne-Dalton is pleased to announce that homeowners have a great tax incentive for purchasing an insulated garage door in 2009.

In October 2005, the Energy Policy Act was passed and signed into law. It entitled eligible homeowners to tax credits for energy saving home improvements, which eventually included insulated garage doors.

That act has now been extended for garage doors purchased in 2009 through the Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008. Any eligible insulated garage door purchased in 2009 can earn up to a $500 tax credit on 2010 tax returns within certain guidelines, as stipulated in the attached certificate. The credit applies to garage doors purchased from Jan. 1, 2009, through Dec. 31, 2009.

To be eligible, homeowners must have their insulated garage door installed on an insulated garage that is part of their principal residence. The door must have a U-factor equal to or less than 0.35 and there must be a means to control air filtration on all sides of the door perimeter.

Wayne-Dalton insulated garage doors that qualify for the tax credit, as long as they are installed on a homeowner’s principal residence, include Models 9800, 9700, 9600, 9400, 9100, 8700, 8500, 8300, 8200, 8100, 6100, 5140, 5120; Thermospan® models 200, 200-20, 150, and 125; Thermomark® models 5150, 5155, 5200, and 5255; Models 2411, 2415, 220, and 216; and Models C-2400, C-24, and C-20.
